Prakriti is the same Nepalese American girl who was the first Nepali to perform The National Anthem during the NBA games at the Verizon Center. She currently attends Marymount University with major in Math and minor in Phycology. She has also released a new single “For You” which she wrote in dedication for her grandparents. Despite being born and raised locally in Fairfax in a Nepalese home, Prakriti has balanced the life of a young bright studentwhile pursuing her passion for music and arts. She is truly a mentor for many young Nepalese American girls who is trying to find a fine balance to juggle between Nepali, traditions, culture, and American values while being in United States.
Prakriti and her band We The People opened for Andy Grammer’s concert which was held at Marymount University. This event was exclusively for the students, alumni and for their guests only. For a local Nepalese American girl, it was a remarkable way to shine and share the stage with Top Billboard 10 Artists like Andy Grammer. Prakriti and her band wowed the crowd for 45 minutes before Andy took the stage. The audience which were mostly college kids could be seen dancing all areas of the concert hall.
Congratulations Prakriti !
