$43,000 was raised by Pandit Deen Bandhu Pokhrel in Los Angeles on first day of Purana

Los Angeles, California / What an emotional scene to watch. Everybody who were present at Swaminarayan Temple in Norwalk, were electrified to gather at one place and listen to Srimad Bhagawat Mahapurana by Nepal’s renowned Pandit Deen Bandhu Pokhrel on Monday, July 4, 2011. When everybody outside was busy in fireworks and having fun on the beach, partying, the committed, United community members in Greater Los Angeles area, were dreaming and supporting their dream by attending this incredible function.

Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA has organized Srimad Bhagawat Mahapurana from July 4 to July 10, 2011. All Board Members, Advisors and other community members have one voice : “How to make this event a grand success.”  The mission of Shree Pashupatinath Foundation, USA is to build a Nepali Community Center, Shree Pashupatinath Temple and Lord Buddha’s Stupa in greater Los Angeles area.

Community Leaders from various organizations were present at the meeting. Surya Prasai was the announcer at the meeting and First Vice President of the Foundation Gokul Poudyal, gave a welcome speech; Program Co-Ordinator and Treasurer of the Foundation Punnakhar “Rishi” Dhakal, mentioned about the mission, goals and program activities; Foundation General Secretary Prem Guragain, read the message from various organizations and individuals; Pandit Deen Bandhu Pokhrel spoke briefly about the event and finally Foundation President Bhakta Thapa, thanked everybody.

All the Board of Advisors were present at this event and it was an exciting environment with the children, young adults and older people, carrying “KALASH” on their head. This is the history in the making in Los Angeles as this kind of event has taken place for the first time in the Nepalese Community. The Donors who donated today were the following:
